The simple past is used to tell events that are already over and completely have been done in past time. it means "the events that you are talking about are at no connection with present day.

Here are some formula you'll have to addhere to to use this form. Read carefully

1. Positive: S + V2 + O.

2. Negative: S + Did + Not + Verb 1 + O.

3. Interrogative: Did + S + Verb 1 + O.

4. Aktive and Passive Voice: S + Verb 2 + O = O + Was/Were + Verb 3 + S.

5. What, Where, Who, and forth + Did + S + Verb 1 + O.


Example Sentences:

1. Positive: S + V2 + O.

- i wrote you.
- you sent the car to me.
- they ate my breakfast.
- he moved to semarang.
- john hit him first though.

2. Negative: S + Did + Not + Verb 1 + O.

- i did not write you.
- you did not send the car to me.
- they did not eat my breakfast.
- he did not move to semarang.
- john did not hit him first though.


3. Interrogative: Did + S + Verb 1 + O.

- did i write you ?.
- did you send the car to me ?.
- did they eat my breakfast ?.
- did he move to semarang ?.
- did john hit him first though ?.


4. Aktive and Passive Voice: S + Verb 2 + O = O + Was/Were + Verb 3 + S.

Active: S + V2 + O.

- i bought two books.
- you sent the car to me.
- they ate my breakfast.
- she made a special cake for her husband.
- john hit him.

Passive: O + Was/Were + Verb 3 + S

- two books were bought by john.
- the car was sent to me by you.
- my breakfast was eaten by them.
- a special cake was made by her for her husband.
- he was hit by john.

5. What, Where, Who, and forth + Did + S + Verb 1 + O.


- what did i buy yesterday ?.
- who did you send the car to me ?.
- how did they eat my breakfast ?.
- where did she make a special cake for her husband ?.
- why did john hit him ?.
