Learning English - Present Prefect Continuous Tense

The Present Prefect Continuous, this one is used to tell events that have been held for a periode of time and that are still going on till time we make the conversation, and possibly will take a periode of time in future to go on.

Here are some formula that you have to addhere to


1. Positif: S + Have/Has + Been + Verb Ing

2. Negatif: S + Have/Has + Not + Been + Ving

3. Interrogative: Have/has + S + Been + Ving

4. What, Where, Who, etc + Have/Has + S + Been + Verb Ing


pay attention on the following examples

1. Positif: S + Have/Has + Heen + Verb Ing

- i've been studying at this school for nine years.
- you've been living here for more than a month.
- they've been working at the office for five years.
- he's been making money online with his laptop for two years.

2. Negatif: S + Have/Has + Not + Been + Ving

- i haven't been studying at this school for nine years.
- you haven't been living here for more than a month.
- they haven't been working at the office for five years.
- he hasn't been making money online with his laptop for two years.

3. Interrogative: Have/has + S + Been + Ving

- have i been studying at this school for nine years ?.
- have you been living here for more than a month ?.
- have they been working at the office for five years ?.
- has he been making money online with his laptop for two years ?.

4. What, Where, Who, etc + Have/Has + S + Been + Verb Ing

- how many years have i been studying at this school ?.
- for how many years has he been making money online with his laptop ?.
